Mehalalitoe Returns to International Footbal, with a Game in November in Port Elizabeth
The Lesotho’s Women’s Senior National team Mehalalitoe has been registered by the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) for the 2020 COSAFA Women’s Championship scheduled for November 03 to 14 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
LeFA Media Officer Mr. Mikia Kalati said Mehalalitoe commenced with their preparations for the tournament on Friday and that they would be the first of Lesotho Football Association (LeFA)’s team to make a return to competitive football.
“LeFA is confident that Mehalalitoe will lead the way to show the Association’s readiness for the return to competitive football in the country,” he highlighted.
Mehalalitoe has been out of action for over six months, but there is hope that they would work around the clock to get ready to compete at the regional tournament.
The Lesotho Football Association was forced to suspend sporting activities in March this year due to the threat posed by the emergence of the novel COVID-19.

Meanwhile, LeFA is currently preparing for the return of football into action before the end of this month.
It is currently holding a series of training for the football administrators, match officials and media among others to equip them with information on COVID-19 as well as on health protocols ahead of the return to football.
Likuena on the other hand has also resumed training as part of preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in which they are scheduled to face Benin in a back to back in November.
The Econet Premier league is also scheduled to kickstart on the weekend of October 30.
